I turned the salmon skin into leather and cut out the shapes. The fish shapes are sewed onto 140 lb 100% cotton Arches paper. I still make salmon skin book covers that are bound with watercolor paper using a coptic stitch. The fish shapes used on this piece are from left over pieces from the book covers.
