Beetle No. 8

A brownish wash with rum and liquid watercolor was first made on some mediocre watercolor paper. I loosely drew the beetle with a red pencil and refined it with 0,05 mm artline pen and crosshatched some darker details. Then I experimented with some old spirit based marker refill for background shadows. I decided to reinforce some lost depth by lifting it with semi opaque white ink and building it up to full opaque at highlighted areas. The paper comes mounted to a heavier paper.
