art works can be found in Afrika
Europe and America .
Currently working with Bark Cloth(Olubugo) a natural fabric attained from the bark of the Emituba tree found in Uganda. Olubugo has a historical aspect among the Baganda people who used it as an alternative fabric for making wrapper(cloth),beddings and also wrapping the deceased on their journey to the next life.
Ideally its spiritual value was highly upheld among the Baganda people to present day.
The Olubugo can be used as an alternative to canvas by painters due to its varying textures and unique lasting capabilities when well handled to create effects when colour is applied.
The themes I execute on this fabric are an Art form which is Afrikan in outlook and figuratively reminiscent of the Old stone age cave paintings found on the walls of old caves in Afrika.
A combination of the spiritual aspect of the fabric and an art style reflecting the original stone age Art fused in a creatively abstract mode in preservation of our heritage.
